Proteomics

Proteomics is a scientific discipline that involves the comprehensive study of proteins in a biological system. It aims to understand the structure, function, and regulation of all the proteins present within a cell, tissue, or organism, collectively known as the proteome.

Proteins are vital macromolecules that carry out numerous essential functions in living organisms. They act as enzymes, receptors, structural components, signaling molecules, and more, playing a fundamental role in almost all biological processes.

The field of proteomics employs various techniques to analyze and characterize proteins:
