The National Anthem of India

The national anthem of India is "Jana Gana Mana." It was composed by the renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore. The anthem was first sung on December 27, 1911, at the Calcutta (now Kolkata) Session of the Indian National Congress. It was officially adopted as the national anthem of India on January 24, 1950.  The lyrics in Romanized Hindi: Jana-gana-mana-adhinayaka, jaya he Bharata-bhagya-vidhata Punjab-Sindh-Gujarat-Maratha Dravida-Utkala-Banga Vindhya-Himachala-Yamuna-Ganga Ucchala-jaladhi-taranga Tava shubha name jage Tava shubha ashish maange Gahe tava jaya gatha Jana-gana-mangala-dayaka jaya he Bharata-bhagya-vidhata Jaya he, jaya he, jaya he Jaya jaya jaya, jaya he The anthem in its entirety typically lasts about 52 seconds when sung or played properly.

The Preamble Constitution of India

The Preamble to the Constitution of India  WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens: JUSTICE, social, economic and political; LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.
