The Government of India has introduced several schemes and initiatives to promote urban development and improve the infrastructure and quality of life in urban areas.  Some prominent urban development schemes implemented by the government: 1. Smart Cities Mission: Aims to develop 100 selected cities as smart cities by leveraging technology and innovation to enhance urban infrastructure, services, and overall livability. 2. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT): Focuses on providing basic urban infrastructure, such as water supply, sewerage, solid waste management, and urban transport, in mission cities. 3. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) - Urban: Aims to provide affordable housing to urban poor through the construction of houses and credit-linked subsidies. 4.
