A tsunami is a series of ocean waves generated by a large and sudden displacement of water, usually caused by underwater earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, or, in rare cases, meteorite impacts. Tsunamis can travel across entire ocean basins and cause devastating impacts when they reach coastal areas. Here are some key points about tsunamis: 1.
